As some of you already now I have been offering personal instruction in photography for a few months now. What started as an experiment has become something of a passion for me…

I was never really interested in teaching, at least in the conventional sense. Sitting in a classroom with ten or fifteen students, spending ten or fifteen minutes critiquing each one’s work before having to go on never struck me as a great way to learn or to pass along information. At the same time I’ve always been convinced that with the proper guidance one can improve one’s skills in photography.
So when a good friend told me he knew someone looking for personal instruction I thought this might be the opportunity I’ve been looking for. Working on a one on one basis with my students has been incredibly rewarding. Seeing them develop, often by leaps and bounds, has reinforced my belief that a personal approach to photographic education is the one that produces the best results. My students have been challenged but they’ve also had a tremendous amount of fun. As I tell everyone before we begin working together the goal is to “change the way you see the world and to share that vision with the rest of us.”
So far, so good!
